Building safety is no longer just about producing compliant designs. It's about coordinating people, information and decisions so compliance can be demonstrated with confidence. Tethion was established to help clients, designers and contractors navigate that process.

We provide independent Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, CDM and fire safety consultancy, supporting projects from early design through to completion. Our role is to bring clarity to complex projects, coordinate compliance across multidisciplinary teams and help dutyholders discharge their statutory responsibilities.

Whether acting as Building Regulations Principal Designer, advising clients on the Building Safety Act or providing independent technical review, our focus remains the same: reducing uncertainty, improving coordination and helping projects achieve a safer, more robust outcome.

Why Tethion?

Many consultants specialise in either design or compliance. Tethion bridges both. Our experience spans architecture, technical design, fire safety and statutory dutyholder roles. This means we understand not only what the regulations require, but also how buildings are designed, coordinated and constructed.

Director-led consultancy

Tethion is led by Hassan Ahmed, a Chartered Architectural Technologist, CIAT Registered Principal Designer and Fire Safety Consultant with over 18 years' experience across healthcare, residential, education, commercial and life sciences projects.

Hassan has worked extensively on complex developments, advising clients and multidisciplinary teams on Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, CDM and fire safety.

Alongside project delivery, Hassan actively contributes to industry working groups, technical committees and professional organisations, including the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), the British Standards Institution (BSI), the Industry Competence Steering Group (ICSG) Building Regulations Principal Designer Working Group, and the Architectural Technical Leads Group (ATLG). This involvement supports Tethion's ongoing professional development and helps ensure our advice reflects current industry guidance, recognised good practice and the evolving regulatory landscape.
